Data Deletion Instructions

1. How to Delete Your Account

Method 1: Through the App/Website

1. Log in to your Ghury account
2. Go to Settings → Account Settings
3. Scroll down to Delete Account
4. Click Delete My Account
5. Confirm your decision
6. Enter your password to verify
7. Click Permanently Delete

Method 2: Email Request

If you cannot access your account, send an email to:

• Email: privacy@ghury.com
• Subject: Account Deletion Request
• Include:
  • Your full name
  • Email address associated with your account
  • Phone number (if provided)
  • Username
  • Reason for deletion (optional)

2. What Gets Deleted

When you delete your account, the following information will be permanently removed:

• ✅ Profile information (name, bio, profile picture)
• ✅ Posts, photos, and videos you created
• ✅ Comments and reactions
• ✅ Messages and chat history
• ✅ Friend connections and followers
• ✅ Marketplace listings
• ✅ Groups you created
• ✅ Stories and temporary content
• ✅ Account settings and preferences
• ✅ Login credentials

3. What May Be Retained

Some information may be retained for legal or operational reasons:

• ⚠️ Legal Requirements: Information required by law (e.g., transaction records for tax purposes)
• ⚠️ Security: Logs for fraud prevention and security (anonymized after 90 days)
• ⚠️ Backup Systems: Data in backup systems (deleted within 90 days)
• ⚠️ Shared Content: Content shared by others (e.g., photos you're tagged in)

5. Before You Delete

6. Download Your Data

Before deleting, you can download a copy of your data:

1. Go to Settings → Privacy
2. Click Download My Data
3. Select data types to include
4. Click Request Download
5. You'll receive an email with download link (within 48 hours)

8. After Deletion

Once your account is deleted:

• ❌ You cannot log in
• ❌ Your profile will not be visible
• ❌ Your posts and content will be removed
• ❌ You cannot recover your account
• ❌ You cannot use the same email/phone to create a new account (for 30 days)

9. Partial Data Deletion

If you don't want to delete your entire account, you can delete specific data:

• Individual Posts: Delete from your profile
• Messages: Delete conversations or individual messages
• Photos/Videos: Delete from your albums
• Comments: Delete your comments on posts
• Search History: Clear from settings

10. Third-Party Data

If you connected third-party services (e.g., social media logins):

• Revoke Ghury's access from those services
• Check their privacy settings separately
• They may retain some data independently
